Who we are

Britele (britele.uk) is operated by OPL ADVISORY LTD (“we”, “us” or “our”), a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16704749.

Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. We are the data controller responsible for personal information collected through Britele and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number ZC055690.

Information we process

When you play

Your game progress, settings and cached app files are stored locally in your browser or installed app. We do not receive your guesses, answers or game history. Britele currently uses no accounts, advertising, cookies or analytics.

When the site is delivered

Our hosting provider processes standard technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, requested page, browser or device information, and the date and time of the request. We do not use this information to identify individual players or build advertising profiles.

When you contact us

We use your name, email address, message and any information or attachments you choose to provide to handle your enquiry and improve Britele.

Why we use information

We process information where necessary for our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable website, responding to enquiries, maintaining records and improving Britele. Where appropriate, we may also process information to take steps you request, comply with a legal obligation, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Who receives information

We use service providers acting on our behalf, including Netlify for website hosting and IONOS for email. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, regulators or public authorities where necessary or required by law. We do not sell personal information.

If a provider processes information outside the United Kingdom, we require an appropriate legal safeguard, such as an adequacy regulation or approved contractual protections, where applicable.

How long we keep information

We retain routine enquiry correspondence for up to 12 months after the enquiry is resolved, deleting it sooner where it is no longer needed.

Where correspondence forms part of a transaction, complaint or legal matter, we retain the relevant information for the period necessary to meet applicable legal or accounting obligations, resolve the matter, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Technical hosting records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting and service operation, subject to our providers’ documented retention schedules. Locally stored game data remains on your device until you reset Britele, clear the site’s storage or remove the installed app.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information; restrict or object to its use; and receive a portable copy. These rights are not absolute. To exercise a right, email hello@britele.uk.

If you have concerns, please contact us first so we can try to help. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children

Britele does not ask players to create an account or provide personal information. If you are under 13 and want to contact us, please ask a parent or guardian to do so for you.

We will update this page before introducing any materially different use of personal information, including website analytics. The date above shows when this notice was last revised.
